Have you ever heard of Megan’s Law? It is a law based on an incident where a young girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted, only to be killed later, by a neighboring convicted sex offender. The law was instilled so that this would not be repeated again. It allows people to know if any sex offenders live in your neighbor. The Sexual Predator List allows you to look up registered sexual predators and where they currently reside. Be safe for your children, and yourself, and educate yourself about who lives in your neighborhood.

When it’s time to pick your major, and you are stuck, what to choose? Some people pick their major based on what they believe will get them the job they want, some follow their passion, and some look for anything that guarantees some sort of ‘job’, usually ones that are in demand. But are those wise ways to pick a major? Many have said that their university degree means nothing, except to learn how to learn. But the actual content is not important. However some disagree. What you learn at school and what you use at work sometimes may differ. The important thing is to be able to pick things up quickly, which is a skill we may not all possess. So when it’s time to pick your major, don’t stress. Do what you feel you would enjoy, and what you are good at.

Be cautious using those translation tools. Though they may be the easiest option out there to translate something, you may, at best, only get a vague idea of what the actual content is. For language assignments, translation tools are the worst to use. Because language can never be translated word for word, and a lot of the time context is very important. If you are only looking for a rough translation, then by all means, there is no need to trouble yourself with all of that work.

Have you seen the new McDonalds ad? It features children eating at McDonalds, dedicating each bite to an Olympic athlete for the Vancouver winter games. They are currently donating a portion of money spent on some of their value meals to training athletes for the game. Ironic isn’t it? As they buy the horrid fast food chain’s value meal, they are doing much damage. Not only are they harming themselves by subjecting themselves to the fatty greasy foods that are McDonalds hamburgers, but they are supporting such a company, so they can open more chains, and spread the disease of obesity across the country. Couldn’t we just donate the money and save ourselves the trouble of having to eat such foods?
